Bella Green
Life Drawing

These drawings in ink are my intuitive response to the model through spontaneous markmaking. The poses are short and often 'held' moments in a sequence of movement. I mostly draw with both hands using the sides and fingernails of the little fingers. Sometimes chalk or pencil are used for linear emphasis.
This process of drawing is about allowing marks to flow rather than a tightly controlled or measured response. My aim is to tune in to the moment or the essence of the pose and to express it as simply as possible. I find it both terrifying and freeing.
