Triptychs and Diptychs
The triptych form goes back at least 600 years to early Christian art where three panels show related images which are intended to be seen together. I enjoy this form because a single view of something or a fixed view point often never seems enough for me.
In my triptychs I take this form and play with the possibilities of viewing whole or partial images, closed, open, partially open - all give a different view. I enjoy the variety and the sometimes surprising conjunctions which reveal themselves.
My pictures in a box, diptychs, hinged panels with related images, may be hung or displayed on a table or shelf.
