Here is what I did with some of the Kaleidoscope canes I learned to make earlier this year. A series of little bowls all about 7 – 10 cms in diameter and 4 – 5 cms high.
On the workshop I used a highly coloured series of canes, but back in my studio I wanted to play with a more limited palette of black and white plus one or two colours. I continue to be amazed and delighted at the surprising variations of pattern possible from one master cane.
Here I have tried to centre the designs, not as easy as it may seem. All of these are just a bit off, but have solved that problem now. So the next ones should be better.
I am also exploring what kind of ‘foot’ the bowls should have, if any. For the moment I am keeping it simple.
Adding birds and fancy feet seem to be the next thing.
